So i wil describe everything so hopefully someone can help me.

So basically on my pc ubuntu is installed and runs automatically by booting up my pc. But I made a bootable USB drive to boot Kali and installed Kali on my pc, but now i want to go back again to ubuntu and it launches automatically kali.

When i go in my BIOS to change Boot Menu to ubuntu it opens a GRUB shell but it doesn't boot my ubuntu.

Did I do something wrong?

Can someone help me out

PS: Th emain thing I wanted to do is to make it possible to switch from ubuntu to Kali when I want, that was my initial purpose.

Let me know if someone knows

Thanks

You likely (from my understanding of what you provided) replaced your Ubuntu system with Kali Linux (ie. overwrote your prior install) and your system only contains a ESP entry for Ubuntu (which cannot boot - given you replaced it with Kali Linux). ie. I assume you wanted to do a Install alongside type of install, but instead did a Replace system (or Erase and install) type of install... but I'm not familiar with what installer Kali Linux uses & you didn't specify what type of install you did. I'd suggest booting a *live Ubuntu system and exploring what's on your disk.

This will tell if both systems are there: Please copy & paste the pastebin link to the BootInfo summary report ( do not post report), do not run the auto fix till reviewed. Use often updated ppa version with your USB installer or any working install over somewhat older ISO. help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair & sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair/home/Home

If you want to dual boot another OS with Ubuntu, then flash Ubuntu ISO on a USB drive, boot from it, and install Ubuntu on a separate partition. The installer will automatically configure the dual boot. Commented Jun 19 at 13:13
